toy ornaments…

what on earth do you do with all the little toys your kids accumulate? goodie bag toys, treasure chest toys, happy meal toys, all of it.  they are everywhere.

as my son got older, many of his smaller toys graduated into bath time toys.  then they were left to hang in a bath net for toys neglected for years.

some were used for a class auction project where they were glued and painted into a cute one-of-a-kind lamp, here.

now that it’s christmas, i decided to graduate some of them into ornaments.

many moons ago when i was pregnant with our first child, i was addicted to sponge bob.  i couldn’t go a day without watching an episode of sponge bob square pants on nickelodeon.  so for our first christmas before her birth, i made sponge bob ornaments.  i have made a tradition since to purchase ornaments of their favorite tv/movie characters since.  well, ornaments are not cheap and they have gotten ridiculously expensive.  this is why i decided to just make their toys into ornaments and save the haste of shopping.

what a great up cycling project!
